I was browsing the delightful offerings on the Anthropologie website and I fell in love with their black and white home decor accessories.

Their items are so simple yet stylish, and would look great in any size home or apartment. From shower curtains, printed pillows, wallpapers and bedding, everything is so fresh and pretty. Take a look through my top 5 picks that showcase black and white for the home…

1. Storybook Rug

Delightful trees and leaves frame a stately manor home with a gazebo, reminding me of a storybook illustration. The detailed patterned rug would be welcomed into a home with quirky style. I could see this rug looking great on a wooden floor, in a room with a high ceiling and minimal furniture. There’s something about looking at this illustration that makes me want to start drawing in my journal or read an English classic!

2. Patterned Pillow

This patterned pillow designed by John Robshaw was inspired by traditional block-printing techniques. The intricate design makes me think of moorish tiles, with a more formal color choice. This pillow would look amazing placed on a white sofa or chair, mixed with other pieces from the collection. I love the design and could see this adding style as well as comfort to the home!

3. A Pretty Measuring Cup

A storybook flora measuring cup designed by Molly Hatch, that features whimsical designs which were originally hand drawn in pen and ink. This would be a wonderful addition to your kitchen, adding style but also functionality….never forget to measure out your ingredients when baking...I might have learned that lesson that the hard way!

4.  Quirky Wallpaper

I love this busy wallpaper by artist Florence Balducci for Over & Over, the giraffe’s wear polka dot coats and passing birds hitch rides from elephants. This wallpaper is so much fun and has a lovely figurative quality mixed with imagination. I would really love this wallpaper in my home and would enjoy looking at it everyday - I might be tempted to color some of it in too!

5. The Tassel

A delicate looking tassel made from brass, cotton and jute. The threads are bound together to create an elegant looking item that will add detail to your home. I would love to add something like this in my bedroom, either on the ends of a curtain pole or stitched into the corners of a pillow. This really is a pleasing little piece!

I would like to own these items and think that there are so many great pieces on the Anthropologie website, do you love it too?
